Legacies and Bequests

Your bequest to Mary Immaculate College can take any of a number of forms. You can bequeath a specific amount, or a portion of what remains after your obligations to others are fulfilled.
You can designate your bequest to support the College as a whole, or you can establish a permanent named fund for scholarships, programme support, professorships, or similar options.

There are a number of different types of legacies, including:

* Pecuniary: A gift of a specific amount of money.
* Residuary: A share of the rest of your assets that you have not already given away.
* Specific: A gift of a specific item.

If you have already made a will and you wish to give a gift to the Mary Immaculate College Foundation, you will need to prepare a new will, or ask your solicitor to add a codicil (addition) in a similar way to the original will.

A codicil needs to be witnessed and signed in the same way as the original will, and should be kept in the same place as the original will.
